This beautiful painting is by Richard Frank and is On display at the Museum of Modern Art in Deland, Florida. The poem “Jumper” is by Timothy S. Deary.

Jumper

Trout love to jump,

maybe because they can or because they have some irresistible urge to see above the surface of the water?

Or maybe they have been fooled by the fly at the end of all those yards of line  that sometimes flip across the surface,

disturbing their tranquil mountain streams on fading sunlit evenings that turn Spring into Summer.
